Wondering if there's anybody else here who participates in dog shows, or any other competitions with their dog?

I am currently showing my Flat Coated Retriever in conformation. We are also doing training for field, and competing in Rally Obedience, with regular Obedience to come.

I have found that it is very easy to be bitten by the bug! I have made some very good friends and even though it is competition, people are wonderful and helpful and supportive of each other. I have also found that it's helped to create a very unique bond with my dog. I love him endlessly anyway, but competing together gives a whole new aspect to our relationship as we are truly a team!

Please tell us about yourself and your dog(s) and what you're doing!

Sharon

Back in the early 90s I got my first Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, they were not that well known but I loved them. I never showed her but I went to the shows where other Cavs were being shown.

My problem is that I wanted someone to let all of them loose and let me sit in the middle so I could play with them and have them wash over me like a wave.

I had the same problem at the cat show. I wanted to hug and kiss them ALL.

I show my Flat Coat as well in the Arizona area. Hubby shows his Mastiff girl and I have shown my Goldens in the past. How old is your Flattie? My Angel is 13 1/2 months old now.
