The link is pretty clear. They captured a working service dog. It isn't clear whether the dog belongs to the US or other NATO force.

What isn't clear to you?

I read somewhere that it is a British dog.

So sad. I doubt he will make it back home.

Katie- I don't know what is "LOL" about this video. There's nothing funny about it. Nothing needs to be translated, the video is clear enough.

The Taliban have what is now believed ( as of today) a British military dog captured in a raid. The Taliban, being very strict Muslim, are very anti-dog. Afghans in general consider dogs unclean, don't keep them as inside pets.

Right now the dog is propaganda. When it outlives any political usefulness, there's a good chance they will kill it. If the dog is lucky, they may try to sell it back or will turn it loose to let scavenge for food. But, no, nothing funny here. The dog faces a grim future.

The Taliban in the video was talking about two things. First, the the way they got possession of the dog.
( in a fight with coalition forces). Second, he was showing off & talking about the weapons they captured in the fight and the articles found in the harness/vest the dog was wearing.

He showed first the weapons. He's not giving out a cell phone number. Rather describing the GPS device, torch and camera the dog had on it. The dog did not carry a cell phone. Everything he said was to prove that these were all coalition objects and not things the Taliban would use.

Thanks WW! I guess IF it was a number they know the Handler & Country. Dog looks more relaxed in the end of the tape so guessing they are treating him ok.
