I noticed you asked for the thread to be closed.

No rules have been broken as far as I can see.

Opinions vary..............this is a message board............with many different views.

Threads Help more than just the Orginal Posters. When different views to a problem Are talked about. Sometimes Years later long after the OP leaves the forum. As I always heard what posted on the internet Stays on the internet. And a Lot of posters come back & tell how well what they end up doing worked out for them.

BUT If you really want to close this just Report using the red triangle on one of OP post & request it closed.

Tell her it is an order from the dog's vet.
That's a really good idea! Then, she won't feel any imagined offense given her mental instability and Leonardo would only get healthy stuff. I was going to say keep him inside the house, but if he has access to many dogs' dream of running on a big backyard like that he shouldn't be denied that.

I'm not gonna wade through 7+ pages of whatever this thread turned into, however ....

Explain what you did in the OP (aging and digestion) and offer to supply her with treats she can give the dog. More then likely she just enjoys giving the dog some food and getting the corresponding companionship out of it. It sounds like it's no so much the act, but the what she is giving that is the problem. So replace what she gives. She gets her feel good moment, you don't have to be concerned about what your dog eats and call it a day. Win / Win

Problem is the OP Does Not Want to Speak to the neighbor. He talks to her dh...goes fishing with him. Talks to the kids. But Not the Lady herself. The dog is only outside 15 mins he don't even want to be out there with him! I be out side tossing him a ball, playing with him taking him for a walk around the property.
