Depending upon what is on television, it appears that my dog is actually watching the program. I don't know if it is the picture or the sounds that have his attention but my daughter is watching Pokemon 3 on DVD.

Have you had similar experiences with your pet?

Mine doesn't watch TV, but for some reason she likes to stare into the dishwasher and stove and watch the reflections.

Every once in a great while we'll catch our dog watching TV. Its rare but when he does its HILARIOUS!!! Usually if we have Animal Planet on. He needs to watch the Dog Whisper and learn how to take care of some of his issues! LOL

Our female frenchie loves hockey or Martha Stewart. Hockey b/c the movements and MS b/c of her frenchies. It's really true that they can recognize their own kind. Very weird!

Jazz does not watch TV but Dash does. He pays attention when there are animals and when there is conflict among the animals he whines and runs over to the TV. He also seems to enjoy dog shows and maybe he even has his favorite dogs like we do as he will run over to the TV wiggling his butt and bark or whine when his favorites are on screen then go lay down and watch some more until another dog strikes his fancy. I have pictures of him standing with his front feet up on the stand the TV is on at my parents house watching agility and barking encouragment for certain dogs. I had been lead to believe that dogs can not see the actual pictures on american TV's but he seems to see them. He thinks humans on TV are BORING!

One of our three does point his head that way now and then. Probably me thinking he's watching the tube when all it is, his head's just pointed that way.

He likes to come lounge all over me while I watch it but doesn't really pay attention to it unless there's a cat meow, another dog barking or for some weird reason a man with a Scottish accent on it in, which case he goes nuts!
