Amazing.
Perhaps you have confused City-Data with some type of scientific journal? The OP is simply stating their opinion, which is based on their personal experiences. How would you cite such information?

Amazing.
What is amazing is that this has been in the news for several years now and they are driving up our prices while we can kiss our culture good-bye. Non-white hiring and college admission practises also hurt the American students and workers.

Here is the data you requested:

Well, this has been an interesting read...

Yes, I'm a foreigner in (what I think) is a fairly cool city and with a decent six-figure income. (No one would mistake my car for a luxury one, though.) Movable, marketable skills help. Having the resources to manage the project it is to move between continents constitutes a bit of a filter. It's fairly rare to meet a down-and-out expat.

Pretty much this!

They mostly have good career back home and was offered for an even better position and salary here because of their skills.

Or they came here with the goal of making a bundle and living well. Having the right mindset early on helps.

Unlike a large number of Americans who don't know what they want to do even after 4 years of college.

The poster who said there are "priority lines" at the DMV is incorrect.

But you're not right either. There is a problem with people who are CA residents or moved to CA and need to renew/change their license not being able to get appts in a timely manner, being told either online or by calling the next available appt. is 3 months out.

There is a lot of frustration over this. A lack of planning when this was implemented has caused a backlog.

And you have to be kidding about the car insurance comment. You honestly think an illegal who gets a CA license is going to run out and get car insurance? LOL.

They will continue to drive uninsured as long as they can get away with it. They have already been doing it for years.

There has been NOTHING addressed about them must having insurance in order to get a DL.
