Frequented all 3 of those, Scorpio's with my ex a lot. We'd go to see the bands - we knew the guys in Jagged Edge.

Probably bought drinks from your sister at one time or another.

Then I am sure we have met in the past.. as Scorpios was my hang too.. I worked there too for a while. Bob & Mom the owners, an older black couple were great people. Do you remember a band called Tantrum? I remember Jagged Edge.

Yes I do. There was another band I used to hang with some of the members of... Mathieson? Think they never played Scorpio's though, I only saw them at SaSo's.

Also, if you remember, you and I figured out some time back that we both worked at the same Little Caesar's, at Fairbanks & Rushing. I was that rogue assistant manager that didn't get along with Frances, lol. Until I got transferred, then she was cordial. I worked at that location from summer of '86 (was a prehire before they actually opened for business) to probably late '86 or early '87 until they sent me to Hondo Pass & Dyer. I think it was after I was at Dyer & Hondo for a few months that we started to offer delivery.

Interesting connection - Eva, who also worked at Fairbanks & Rushing - I had asked her for a date, haha, and she turned me down, and instead set me up with a friend of hers, who I took to your family's bar to wind down from our dinner date.

Kevin Bacon must be connected to all this somehow...

MIKE? Well don't answer that. Yeah I forgot we came to that conclusion. They closed the Fairbanks Little Caesars we worked at, and reopened it closer to the road next to the burger king.... SaSo's is now a probation office.. well at least most of the convicts will know where the office is.. lol. Scorpios is now a church.. and El Paso is slowly loosing what made her a cool place to grow up in.

I remember Gatsby's and The Ratskeller, but not Caravan.

I remember a lot of the smaller bars.

The Brass Asp (Hallo Willie!), Zum Stammtisch, The King's X, various Dyer Street dives, etc. Once I'd had enough of the "meat markets" like Phoenix and so on, those smaller places are where I felt at home.

Yes, Mike sounds right. I didn't hang with them a whole lot, just once in a while, so if they were troublemakers, I was unaware but would believe it.

Funny that SaSo's is a probie office. Irony.

Yeah, El Paso was cool then, sorry to hear it has changed a bit.

One of the reasons I put my plans on hold for moving back to EP is because I am afraid that I will ruin my memories of those times if I moved back and things had changed a lot. there are other reasons too though. Actually, had I not found this forum last year, I may have moved back already.

I had simply assumed that property taxes and home prices would be well lower than where I am at (as they were, once upon a time), but listening to you folks here, I was way off base.

Still not out of the question for me, but on the back burner for now. Maybe if the economy comes back around in a few years...

Anyway, I am drifting off topic here. Back to useless trivia.

What was the name of that bar on Dyer, south of and on the opposite side from Chico's Tacos?

The Brass Asp! Now that is an old one. Old because I left in 1980, and I used to go there in the late 70s... under age, and still could order pitchers of beers there! I remember a lot of Vietnamese women working there; it was a small blue collar kind of place. Is still there? It was off Montana if I recall correctly.
