Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has said she could defeat President Barack Obama in the 2012 election.

Mrs Palin made the declaration in an interview with ABC, one of several recently in which she has said she was weighing a presidential bid.

She told ABC she was "looking at the lay of the land".

She just might be able to do it... Much as there were a bunch of morons who ate up Obama's Hope and Change without a thought, there are a bunch of morons who eat up any pseudo-patriot jargon that Sarah Palin pulls out of her crack.

Heck at this point and time my dog has a pretty good shot at beating Obama in the 2012 election. He made a lot of promises that have not come true and people are angry. Angry people tend to vote their anger.

Your confused She's talking about going camping with
Kate Gosselin

The lay of the land: the features of an area of land. Example: We checked out the lay of the land before we put up our tent and made a camping site

I guess the successful vote rigging of DWTS has given Sarah Palin an added confidence boost.

ETA: I can just see Sarah Palin lasting in the White House for about 18 months then deciding to quit and crawl back to Alaska because its getting to difficult (or whatever excuse she used when she quit as governor of Alaska)

Using common sense, would a potential candidate say he/she couldn't defeat an opponent?

The way people feel about Obama right now - she probably could. The only hope for the Democratic party is if they get Obobo the Clown out of the center ring - Hillary would be a definite improvement. Seriously, though, I do not want to see Sarah run. We need Romney's financial expertise to get us out of this country's financial mess (his Mass. health care fiasco aside). Marco Rubio as V.P. - most definitely.
