I like the concept of a uniform ID card similar to the CAC. The microchip in it would be great for putting essential information (health problems, allergies, ICE numbers, etc).

It'd be one helluva expense to start with, but the benefits and longterm savings would balance out.

I really don't see what's so wrong about a national ID. But, that's just sane logic talking.

I've always been confused about this. What IS the big deal about showing an ID to vote?

Everyone should have some sort of photo ID on them so just in case they're found lying in a ditch somewhere the authorities can get your wallet and find out who you are. That's just common sense.

I don't see how this will hurt Democrats only.

Really the only people who don't have an ID are a lot Hispanics who are legal but support illegals because they have family crossing over and old people and a handful of everyone else. Poor Republicans for all that Hispandering. Don't change the rules when you're trying to get the Latino vote. And as far as old people. That hurts both sides because on one side they don't have the IDs to vote and on the other they're candidates are calling SS a Ponzi Scheme and making all the Baby Boomers plus sweat so they won't be voting for either side.

With the way it's going now, I have a hunch this will be the first time a significant amount of the geriatric voters stay home when they've always been the most reliable voters.

The Dems still have over a year to get these people an ID card. Why aren't they doing what is necessary rather than complaining?

Dems claim they want to help the poor so why not help them by getting them an ID card that will be useful for more things than just the voting privileges it provides? Are they really only concerned about them on voting day?
