In any event, Roosevelt was elected to a third term in 1940, outside of the years you claim there were no elections.

Put down the crack pipe!
FDR was the only President to serve 4 terms because of WW II... That would never happen today unless elections were canceled...

At least this stupidity isn't hurting anyone.

Look at what the retarded radical left did to the Capitol in Madison and what they're doing now in New York City.

I'll take the harmless words of the far right over the destructive and hateful CONDUCT of the far left any day.

That's right, b/c now there is a constitutional amendment prohibiting a president from serving more than two terms, or ten consecutive years.

I blame it on public schools. Their teacher may actually have told them that. So much revisionist history is being taught that it's little wonder young people are so misguided.

From your link...

In 1940, Franklin D. Roosevelt became the only president to be elected to a third term; supporters cited the war in Europe as a reason for breaking with precedent. In the 1944 election, during World War II, he won a fourth term, but suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and died in office the following year. Thus, Roosevelt was the only President to have served more than two terms.

HC,
Before FDR was ELECTED (elections were NOT CANCELLED) to 4 terms there was NO constitutional amendment that prohibited a president from serving more than 2 terms so FDR was within his rights to run for more than 2 terms. It was a tradition started by George Washington to only serve 2 terms. FDR broke with that tradition..

After his death, BEFORE he was able to serve his 4th term, Congress quickly added the amendment to the constitution that prohibited presidents from serving more than 2 terms..

Got it? FDR did not cancel any elections and even though he won 4 terms, he did not SERVE 4 terms...

class over.
