By law the Social Security card is not supposed to be used as a federal ID card, despite the fact that most Americans have allowed it to be used just that way.
Is illegal to laminate a SS card, and one should never be carried on the person in case of ID theft, just like the birth certificate. Do i like SS? No i don't ... It is legal slavery. Does that mean a Federal picture ID is okay because we have SS? No it doesn't, it is just further deterioration of our privacy and our rights to move from place to place without being treated like criminals or suspected terrorists in our own damn country!

I bet you can't point to one poster who has advocated a situation here where people are asked to see their papers.
If Mitt gets elected, nothing is going to change and in 4 years people will have the same "ANYONE but (insert the president's name here)" mindset we have had for as long as I can remember.
I'd say it is very likely either Mitt or Obama will get elected, unless somehow Mitt has a Gary Hart moment before November.
