Freedom!!!!

Everybody has something to hide ... Knowledge is power. And smart people don't want other people, including the government, knowing their business. That is what our right to privacy is all about - and it is a God given naturally derived right that is inalienable, regardless of the fact that corrupt politicians criminally infringe upon that right. They are the criminals according to the constitution - which is the true law of the land - and according to God and nature, not the American people who are mostly victims of corruption in the government.

If you really believe what you are saying, then you obviously don't understand the meaning of the word freedom.

It is the government that should be under constant scrutiny and investigation by the people, and not the people who should be under constant scrutiny and investigation of the government.

When the government is afraid of the people there is freedom, when the people are afraid of the government their is tyranny ...

Do you agree with tyranny?

"Don't tread on me!"

No it doesn't, it is just further deterioration of our privacy and our rights to move from place to place without being treated like criminals or suspected terrorists in our own damn country!

We know the ones here on C-D who are all for having a Nazi style BIG government ("show me your papers!") police state here in the US ... Good luck trying to sell that to the rest of us!

You obviously must either be here illegally and/or are not a US citizen, since this so concerns you, because that's the only people it would apply to.

Many companies already use e-verify for employment and any job working for the government it is required. This is not new.

It is to deter the hiring of illegals by employers which will cut down on one of the magnets bringing them to this country...illegally.

It's not hard to figure it out.

I have news for you, if the government wants to find you now, for whatever reason, they can.

The immigration issue is a major weak point for Mr Romney, just as it is a major weak point for Lord Emperor Obama.

The American people have given their representatives lousy options here. Overtures for amnesty by some political leaders were met by a furious backlash from Americans. The only stance they are willing to accept? "No amnesty under any circumstances!"

Sure a better fence might be nice. Sure Federal ID cards might help to some degree. But these are just tiny bandaids on a giant problem.
1.) You cannot possibly build a wall tall enough, or impassible enough to keep everyone from crossing the Mexican border. They'll find a way to under or over, but probably they'll just go around it. When you have a huge mass of people who want to get here, they'll find a way to make it happen.
2.) It would be impossible to round up all 12 million illegals.
3.) You are losing tax revenue at local, state and federal level by them being here, working and not paying any taxes.

I think the only actual solution is:
a.) Throw your system of quotas and the very lengthy naturalization process out the window. No quota and a much faster pathway to citizenship. If you can get and keep a job in the USA you get to be a citizen.
b.) Expedite citizenship for everyone standing in line legally. They get to go first and they should go first. They went through the front door.
c.) From there, sort out what illegals can do to compensate for breaking the law. Military service? Paying a $4000 fine? You need to do something there. But once they've paid the price, they get the same opportunity to become citizens. You can't begin to hope to kick them all out of the country, so the best course is to make them citizens on terms we make for them.
d.) Channel the flood of people coming into the USA through legal channels and put them on the path to citizenship the day they arrive.

The problem is that nobody wants to do anything that will realistically solve the illegal immigration problem. The Dummocrats will continue to ignore the problem in hopes that it goes away. The Repugs will continue to throw money at solutions that will never work in a million years. Who knows how long it takes for America to realize that you have to drastically change the entire approach taken to illegal immigration.

The answer to illegal immigration is to continue random checks on places of work. There's no hurry, just be consistent and persitent and in time the problem will go away.

ithe democrats are actively trying to encourage illegal immigration-not "hope it goes away". look at obama's recent appointment: (town hall)

President Obama has appointed open border/amnesty advocate Cecilia Munoz to replace Melody Barnes as the head of the Domestic Policy Council. Munoz, a strong supporter of the failed DREAM Act, is the former senior vice president for the radical open-border National Council of La Raza.

when will americans realize that obama doesn't care about workers, doesn't care about citizens, doesn't care about unemployment numbers or the rising welfare state?

literally, trillions of dollars spent and nothing to show for it.

I hope you are talking about cracking down on those doing the hiring. If we reduce the incentive, that will reduce the number of people sneaking in. If we target the illegals after the fact, the problem won't go away, it will just be different groups of illegals coming into work. If there is a shortage of people to do the work, go the "Guest Worker" route.

Okay you go on living your frightened delusional little life seeing black helicopters and other imagined threats everywhere, what a pathetic existence that must be. The majority of us will continue enjoying the freedoms you are too paranoid to every realize you have.
