Next in the line of succession is Speaker John Boehner. He sees his opportunity and decides that he can be more effective continuing as Speaker then by being president, so he appoints Mitt Romney as his Vice President per the 25th Amendment - and then resigns.

Mitt Romney then becomes the 47th President of the United States (and 4th in two months) and appoints Paul Ryan as V.P.
Just so you know, you're embarrassing yourself.

Apparently, some posters here simply cannot be embarrassed. The OP definitely falls in that category.

In the fevered imagination of the OP, the Democratic Senate would refuse to confirm Biden's VP nominee, but that same Democratic Senate would happily confirm John Boehner's VP nominee.

The OP might as well have just said:
"When the Electoral College convenes in December, all 538 members will cast their Presidential vote for Mitt Romney!"

That would be no more ludicrous than the OP's premise...

But where does Ron Paul fit into this scenario? It's not too late!

63 Obama Electors defect, casting their votes for Ron Paul, leaving the election results:
Obama: 269
Romney: 206
Paul: 63

No one gets a majority! The election is thrown to the House!

Stunningly, in January Ron Paul wins a majority of House delegations! In fact, he wins them all, 50-0!

Paul names Paul Ryan to the post of Secretary of Ayn Rand (a post Paul creates by proclamation)!

In February, the U.S. returns to the gold standard!

In March, Christmas is renamed John Galt Day!

In April, Rush's song "Anthem" replaces "The Star-Spangled Banner"!

. . . . . . . . . .

And they all lived happily ever after! (except for the degenerate liberals, who all killed themselves, making the world a perfect Objectivist Paradise!)

Relax, Harrier. Obama will be leaving in a little over 1,500 days.

Inhale.

Sorry, my dog already chewed up the Powerball and got dog slobber all over it. That's just how he rolls.
