Friday is day 10 post election..certification deadline. Tick tock....
im not really counting on a re-do or anything. the corrupt establishment on both sides will protect each other. we may be better served if the democrat takes the seat in the end.

If you think this is a tactic that has never been used--yes, even by Republicans against Democrats--then you are a political neophyte.

"Rush Limbaugh yesterday urged his listeners in Texas to vote for Hillary Clinton, so as to keep the Democrats pounding one another a little longer.

Limbaugh has been actively urging his Texas listeners to cross over and vote for Clinton in that state’s open primary Tuesday, arguing it helps the Republicans if the Democratic race remains unsettled for weeks to come."

Limbaugh Urges Texas Republicans to Vote for Clinton

I'm sure you were equally outraged with this, right? Or is your outrage selective?

Open primaries allow for this and always have. If voters don't like it they can change it.

In any event, 7k is inaccurate, as in the best case scenario for Cochran, you'd be looking at a 70/30 split, hence invaliating the result should only be done if 17,500 illegal votes are shown, as with a 40% margin-that would account for a 7k gap.

This was NOT an extremely close election, which would have led credibility for "illegal votes lower than massive amounts" to matter.

LOL! One reverend paid a few folks to vote, in a race decided by 6,880 or 13 times the margin of W over Gore in the far larger turnout, far larger state, of Florida.

Not 68. Not 688. 6,880.

The person making these allegations doesn't have the best reputation.

In fact, very poor from what I've read.

It'd be tough to prove, likely won't be. But it is an interesting story

Don't hold your breath. A lot of decent people are stepping up, voicing their concern, and calling for an investigation:
Quote:
"Black Conservatives Fund calls on the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigations to investigate the claims of voter fraud, wire and mail fraud, and other illegal election activities that may have been committed by Senator Thad Cochran and his campaign aides Saleem Baird and Kirk Sims.

...Board member Anita MonCrief shares the dismay many black conservatives have voiced about the allegations, saying, “As black Americans, it is insulting to us all that in 2014, decades after the horrors of Jim Crow that the Cochran campaign would use black voters in such a manner. Anyone that thinks it's ok to lure black voters to the polls with money and the implied promise of government handouts does not deserve to be a servant of the people.”
Black Conservatives Fund

Thank goodness some people have critical thinking skills.

The stormy aftermath of Mississippi’s Republican Senate runoff has sent Tea Party conservatives around the country to the ramparts, raising the prospect of a prolonged battle that holds the potential to depress conservative turnout in November in Mississippi — and possibly beyond. [...]

Perhaps more worrisome to Washington Republicans is that if conservative outrage in Mississippi spreads, some Tea Party voters in other states where the Republican establishment’s candidate has prevailed could stay home in November. That could bolster Democrats like Kay Hagan in North Carolina, Mark Pryor in Arkansas, Mark Begich in Alaska or Michelle Nunn in Georgia.

“Oh, we are watching. We are furious. The G.O.P. wants us to sit down, shut up and vote for their RINO,” Jane Bilello, chairwoman of the Asheville Tea Party in North Carolina, said, using the acronym for Republican in Name Only. “We are putting our foot down, and until the Republicans learn this lesson, they’re going to continue to lose elections.”

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/05/us...rage.html?_r=0

Lawyers for the McDaniel camp want a new runoff election in September. It looks like this is going to drag out for some time, which is not good news for the GOP, especially if this Tea Party rage spills over into other races. The GOP taking the Senate in November is looking less and less like the sure thing it has been touted as by Republicans. First they'll have to slay the monster they created, and doing so might kill their chances for a GOP Senate majority in the process anyway.

It's a kind of a damned if they do, damned if they don't conundrum for the GOP. It's shaping up to be an interesting summer.

Losing the Senate for several more years would be a worthwhile price to pay to clear the party of the forces within bent on its destruction, and restore it to the successful levels it had pre TP.

Notice: It's the TPers who lack the guts to go it alone, and attach themselves to the GOP like a tick on a dog.

Great analogy. The Tea Party is definitely a parasite that seems intent on killing its host. I think the rank and file true believers actually believe they have the numbers to take over the party. That's the danger of living in a narrow little echo chamber and only hearing what you want to hear.
