The mushy middle has done, oh so well for the GOP....

There is a reason Reagan had HW. Bush as VP......

Texas has had a lot of Democratic party politicians in charge, and in the relatively recent past.

The voters apparently were disappointed with the rule of Ann Richards, Lloyd Bentsen, Wendy Davis, Sheila Jackson Lee, etc., and voted them out.

If they start delivering, and pushing through programs Texans can vote for, the state could easily go Democrat again.

Nelson Cruz - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I agree Nelson Cruz has been an underestimated MLB player.

There. Takes care of both names.

At the time of the revolution in Cuba, no one knew who would rise as the leader, once over.

No, Obama's degree doesn't impress me either. Yes, Cruz is a gifted speaker, much like a scammy used car salesman or a televangelist bilking the desperate and gullible out of their money.

How do you know they were "only there because attendance is required?" Do you know that they wouldn't have been their otherwise? I wonder why he got so many loud cheers and at least one standing ovation (if not more). Doesn't sound like they were showing any resistance to having been "forced" to attend.

Your remarks are based on nothing but hatred and without merit.
We know they were required to be there because they said so and it's readily available information. People would apparently rather suffer through half an hour of Ted Cruz than pay $10. It's probably a fair bet that the people who walked out in the middle, read books, spent the entire time texting on their phones, or showed up in Rand Paul t-shirts wouldn't have been there if there weren't financial consequences to not showing up.

It shows how tone deaf and delusional Ted Cruz really is. It seemingly didn't occur to him that by making an announcement in that environment, the story would immediately shift away from him and onto the people who were required to attend. Did he never consider that if people who don't support you are forced to come to your event, they might provide amusing footage and turn into the story themselves?

Default Cruz is a joke and looks like one

Ted "Bill Murray" Cruz has no more a chance of winning the presidency than Ted Bundy.

He has no more chance of winning the GOP nomination than Yosemite Sam.

Why do you think that? Don't you realize that any Republican who is nominated is going to be demonized just as much as Cruz is being demonized now?

Even the hapless John McCain, who bent over backwards to be "one of the guys" among the media and his liberal friends across the aisle, was slammed as a reincarnation of Genghis Khan when he finally got the nomination.

Maybe ANY Republican doesn't stand a chance, that's certainly an argument that can be made. But picking on one guy, Cruz, I don't think so. He stands as much a chance as any of them.
