Latinos, Old Glory, are entitled like all of us are, to vote as they so choose to.

Philip Bump reports:

Note the big swing in the Asian voting bloc, too. In 2012, strong support for the president among Asian-American voters was a surprise. Asian voters preferred the president by 47 points. In 2014, the (low turnout) group split about evenly. It was a 46-point swing.

The full account is here, via Megan McArdle. The 2014 electorate wasn’t just older and whiter than 2012. It also voted more Republican. - The Washington Post

Off year elections are not relevant to national races. We have just one we all vote on, and because of that, Immigration Policy takes center stage in POTUS races.

Illegal immigration is only an issue with Latinos. Most of the rest of Americans want them the hell out of our country. Whether a candidate wins or loses will have no bearing on that issue even though it should to law abiding Americans. They're too busy worrying about the other issues most not knowing what a negative impact illegal immigration has on our country.

Yes, Latinos can vote any way they want but their support of illegal aliens in this country simply because most are ethnically like themselves is an anti-American stance to take and a selfish one to boot. A tribal mentality that trumps our immigration laws is not putting the nation's interest first. Yet we should amnesty more of their kind with that mindset and even put them on a path to citizenship? No thanks! Latinos aren't special and above our laws.

Latinos of course vote self interest, just like tens of millions. Rich folks want low tax rates not to add jobs, to keep more. Same principle-self-interest.

And that is the main reason why they will continue to vote for the party that favors expanded government services for poor and working class people - the Democratic Party. They will not vote Republican, and expanding the number of Latino voters through mass legalization and citizenship will always be a losing strategy for the GOP.

Voting based on thumbing one's nose at our laws for one's ethnic group here illegally is quite different than desiring tax cuts. The latter is not disrespecting our laws nor does it have anything to do with supporting illegal foreigners which harms our own citizens.

This is the same woman who lost out on a cabinet position because she had to have a servant to clean her house and couldn't even be bothered to pay minimum wage right?

I don't know if that's necessarily true. Many Latinos work in the same industries. Why get more over Latinos over here and keep their own wages down? Why cut your own throat?
