You as well as Sanders do not understand wealth creation. There is no "big pie" that gets divided (unequally, in your opinion, and in the opinion of Sanders). Wealth is not a finite pile of money, where people all compete for some of it. Wealth is created, by hard work, smart money management, investing, etc. This was the point that Michele Bachmann was trying to get across to Sanders. He didn't 'get it.' He would rather believe his version of wealth and poverty, that the "evil rich" oppress the 'serfs' and pay them a pittance, in order to amass a fortune for themselves, making it impossible for anyone else to get "a piece of the pie".

For that reason, they hate corporations and successful people... unless they happen to be related to Apple or Starbucks.

They don't understand how an economy works or a free market system, so trying to appeal to that segment of voters doesn't make sense. Essentially, you need to come in with a Bernie Sanders "Steal from Peter to Pay Paul" type message, because obviously Paul will always support such a policy. Unfortunately, even if we were to steal the entire wealth of billionaires in this country and nationalize some of the major companies (which I'm sure many of the Bernie supporters would love), it would still barely make a dent in our national debt. Useful idiots, etc.

I agree with you to an agree.

It's not the government's job to take money from one person and give it to another.

However, the current system is corrupt. My family has owned numerous small businesses ranging from $50,000 to $7 million. The taxes we pay are massive, yet large corporations who are able to hire an entire legal team are able to do a lot of accounting tricks to pay very little and sometimes no tax. That is a messed up system. That is corporate welfare in my opinion. However, politicians on BOTH sides of the aisle are in bed with these corporations. Remember Obama promising to end corporate tax loop holes, he promised it in 2008 and 2012... but do we ever hear about it? Not really, that's because the establishment on both sides are in bed.

Nobody has proposed anything like that.

Saying "we're going to make America great again" and "we are going to allow the 99% to get their fair share of wealth in the country" are both open statements with no substance. That's why you need to look at the details.
Unlike Trump, Sanders has a lot of specific policy proposals to help the middle class that can be evaluated on their substance.

That's what is wrong right there. There is nothing that can't be justified when we accept low standards, no ethics, no principals, or just plane old greed.

Legislation written to exclude some and pick the winners. Bribes to pass it. And media to tell you how wonderful it is.

The fault is on the corrupt politicians for the most part. It used to be illegal to offer bribes and if you did it today with some street cops they would charge you and throw you in the monkey house. But with fancy language we can get around any obstacle if in the privilege class. If the vote can't fix it revolution will in time.

Can't listen to these two people so only watched the video for a minute. What I DID hear Sanders say on video last night during a recent rally was that he was ready to transform America. He forget the 50c word "fundamentally". We've been down this road recently and I don't want to travel that road again. Not with someone who openly says that he is a socialist.

Bernie's message-no one should be able to live like a millionaire.

Conservative message-we should make it possible for everyone to live like a millionaire.

Wrong,

Bachmann's message we shouldn't change anything, everything is fine as is.
Sanders's message, we should take points from countries like Norway.

Sanders is basically the voice of the people in this country who have "given up" or simply don't feel like they can ever be a successful person. So they want a man like Bernie to bring everyone down to their level. Hence, why he gets so much support from young people. And I totally understand that; it wasn't long ago that I was a young man with a reasonable amount of college loan debt and facing the uncertainty of the job market post college. I wondered if I would be as successful as I hoped I could be. Several years and a lot of hard work and long nights later, I succeeded and didn't need the help of Sanders or any other socialist to get me there.

So again, I understand why young people support Sanders. When they get a little older, they'll probably ask themselves why they were so stupid and idealistic. But hey, everyone needs to learn that on their own. It's life.

What's really sad though, are the older people who support Sanders or his message. I suspect most of them never really became as successful as they hoped, so they don't believe in themselves anymore and want government to fix their problems. Sorry, but neither Sanders or anyone else in government can do that for you. That's up to you. Bachmann, as a conservative, wants to "let you help youself" by moving government out of the way and allowing the economy to grow and create more opportunities for people to work and develop skills of their own. Yes, it involves work, and a lot of people don't want to hear that.
