They are literally caught off guard.

The view among democrats was this race would be a cake.

All of a sudden they realized there is no plan B!!

Clinton's scandals will just get worse.

She takes money from Saudi Arabia.

They behead women in public.

If she goes out old man Bernie won't be able to cope up.

Even Rubio can take him out.

Donald or even Bush would beat him.

Now they're evaluating other options but Biden or Al Gore won't do the job

Dead in the water.

Bernie Sanders would demolish any Republican candidate. 25% of Republicans now have an unfavorable view of the Republican party, an increase of 100% in the last year. They are sick and tired of the legalized bribery and billionaire buying of politicians going on in Washington. Bernie Sanders is the longest serving independent in Congress history and does not take bribe money from the billionaire class and the corporate elites. He is wildly popular among conservatives in his own state. They know he fights for them, whether they are war vets, small business owners, or family farmers. Maybe they disagree on abortion, or some other religious issue, but we are now in a situation where the American democracy is at stake as billionaires pick the candidates who do their bidding and people are waking up, from all sides of the political spectrum.

So far he has yet to prove that he has any widespread appeal that would be needed to win a general election. Or even, at this point to beat Hillary Clinton in the primary.

As it stands now, he's going to lose every primary state against Hillary where there a large percentage of Democrats are African American. If he doesn't take SC, then he's pretty much done.

He has great appeal. His policies are supported by the majority of the American people according to polls, whether it is expanding social security, breaking up the Wall Street banks, repealing Citizens United, $15 minimum wage, universal health care, the list goes on and on. Bernie Sanders is right in the mainstream of public opinion.

The problem is simply name recognition as a result of the DNC refusing to organize more debates and the corporate media who of course do not want to cover him for obvious reasons.

Can you cite these polls. I haven't seen any recent polls that would indicate that Sanders has any chance of winning.

Sanders is in the same mold as Ron Paul. He's an old, ideologically pure guy who has a rabid base of support among extreme liberals, but not much more.

To the larger point, I'm not sure anyone thought the election would be a cake walk for Hillary. She certainly never took that approach. She knew her negatives - as did her party. It will be interesting to see the Biden factor.

Hillary is simply not an impressive person, and it becomes painfully clear watching her speeches. She has nothing to offer, and people are seeing it now that she is actually giving speeches in TV. And yes, the Dems don's have anyone else. Republicans have a problem too, and Trumps popularity proves it. The GOP a whiole has became very unattractive.

What is the context of this thread ???

Are you arguing that there is no cross over appeal, or that Democrats dont have another candidate that they themselves think can win ????

the first one is obviously your opinion, and you are free to have it, but the other would be your interpretation of people from the other side, and I would say 99% of those people disagree with you.
