They have Spanish newspapers, television, and most of the people working in stores will address you in Spanish first.
Which is ridiculous. The Cubans have been here for some time and yet they still refuse to assimilate to our nation's language of English?

So these Cubans have been living in this country since 1961 and STILL don’t speak English? Seriously doubt it.

No, they aren't immigrants any more if they become citizens of this country. The only way to become fluid in a language is to speak it as often as you can. There lays the problem many won't do that.

Even here in Texas, 30 years ago, you rarely heard Spanglish being spoken.
Press 1 for english soon appeared to let us all know, there is an illegal alien problem.

"There can be no divided allegiance here. . . We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, of American nationality, and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding-house" Theodore Roosevelt

Americans who are from Cuban descent as well as Americans who came to the U.S from Cuba. As I said earlier, I'm certainly no fan of Jeb, but I don't see any issues in speaking in Spanish at a campaign event in South Florida. The majority of south Florida speaks Spanish as their primary language, ESPECIALLY among the GOP base there.

Yeah and in Mexico they speak Mexican as opposed to classical Spanish. Maybe Bush should run for Pres. of Mexico.

He's not the first candidate to do it. I'll bet you even voted the last guy who won the White House and spoke in Spanish while on the campaign trail.

Then they are not Cubans. Came here and became legal and understand english, as well as speak it.

The only people he is communicating with are illegals that don't understand english well, and they cannot vote.... Or can they.
