I still like Rand Paul the most, but i know he has no chance.
I agree about Kasich. As Bush falters, the establishment GOP will look for another standard bearer, most likely Kasich or Rubio, and Kasich appears to be getting the most traction right now. Christie or Walker might be acceptable to the establishment too, but they're stalled also. The question is who the establishment can stomach, that still gets base support? I'm not sure Kasich would be acceptable to the conservative base, or if Cruz would be acceptable to the establishment. In the end, what's more important to the conservative base of the GOP? Wresting control of the party away from the country club Republicans or nominating the most electable candidate? It will be interesting to watch.

Yes, these are just the scale of the cuts he will make. So no more social security, no more medicare or medicaid and another military sized budget cut (another $640 billion dollars).
hmm, Maybe I missed something. I just read this one article says

Yes I agree it will be interesting to watch.
I like Kasich, I think he deserves some publicity.
So I am not sure if he wanted to cut military spending, although a certain level of spending cut is not unreasonable in my opinion.
I will wait for the debate.
He wants to have a 10% flat rate tax that everyone pays. That will only bring in $1.1 trillion. We currently spend closer to $4 trillion. So he'd either have to raise the flat tax to 40% or cut everything out of the budget -- which cuts the military and everything else, except for the interest on the debt.
Gonna love city data. People here are freaking nuts.
Why not just answer the question?
It sounds to me like Dr. Carson would be in favor of ignoring the Geneva Convention in favor of continuing those "enhanced interrogation techniques", and perhaps worse, employed by the previous administration.
Is that who we want to be as a country?

As for the poll, not surprised at all.
Why should I answer a question regarding Japan did years ago?
Better question, why should I be the one answering question regarding japan?

But the size of his cuts means that the equivalent of all the money spent on social security, medicare, medicaid and the military will be gone.
So where is that 72% federal budget cut going to come from? It has to come from elimination of social security, medicare and medicaid, that's a given. But where is the rest of the $640 billion cut going to come from?

well Interesting point. Like I said, I would have to wait for the debate. Plus, it is still too early.
I am okay with a little bit military spending cut, but I am definitely not okay with cutting veterans benefits.

Gov. Kasich does seem to be getting some traction.
He received some big endorsements and is scheduled to appear on one of the late night shows next week.
Of course, he does agree with the president regarding the Syrian refugee crisis and he did expand Medicaid coverage in Ohio.
I'm not sure how that plays.
Empathy doesn't seem to be a wanted trait for the GOP base.
