Sooner! Time to cut those bennies. Time for seniors to live their vote. Since no one can claim they contribute to Medicaid, start with that. Sure, a lot of seniors will need to live with relatives instead of senior homes but it's a start on attacking those unfunded liabilities.

Next, we look at Medicare. Too much going out. Paul Ryan was all about vouchers, time to give out coupons toward an annual check up.

Then...Social Security. Just a little off the top, say - 5%? They won't even notice and collectively it will help.

The takers vs. the soon-to-be-taken. That would be interesting.

The real divide will be between homeowners (who have been subsidized for decades through tax breaks etc and therefore have been takers) and renters (who will be devastated by SS cuts unless they can find a way to collect rent from others).

And that costs us over $1 trillion a year which is more than SS.
Seniors vote Republican. The guys they vote for openly tell them they want to reduce entitlements. They vote for that so what is the problem?

You'll still be supporting them though via welfare and medicaid.

Americans have a history of poor savings. You'll be paying for them one way or another.

I already said Medicaid can be the first to go. And seniors typically are all for that, not realizing how much Medicaid goes toward senior housing. Or maybe they do. They're patriots so maybe they just want to reduce the national debt.

Medicaid is for the poor and illegals. They pay nothing and get it for free. US taxpayers foot the bill 100%.

Medicare is for seniors. They paid FICA for their working careers and also pay a premium when they turn 65 and enroll. US taxpayers pay 0% towards this. This is paid for via payroll FICA tax.

Now which one do you want to get rid of ?

??? ??? ??? ???

They won't even notice 5 percent off the top?

Rents here are up 15 percent year-over-year and a lot of these people are now homeless.

I noticed he called ss an entitlement.

SS is not an entitlement.
As workers, we paid into that program, and are collecting money based on what we put into the plan over a lifetime of work.
Who the hell is he to say it's an entitlement program?
Screw him.
He just lost the senior vote for sure.

Bob.

Actually, 4.6 MILLION seniors collect Medicaid too. They take it all. Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Takers!

Seniors & Medicare and Medicaid Enrollees

Medicaid provides health coverage to more than 4.6 million low-income seniors, nearly all of whom are also enrolled in Medicare.
