The speech was written recently and Obama's words were lifted probably last week. Mrs Trump read the speech points to her writer.

So if Melania gave the passages to the speechwriter and the speechwriter added them to the speech, as reference I would assume, shouldn't have Melania recognized the passages during a read through or practice sessions?

Of course, just like Michele Obama didn't write her own speech 8 years ago and took credit for it. That's how it's done. A speech writer writes the speech with the input of the speaker and then the speaker takes credit. It's never been any other way regardless of political party.

At least that poor little pony has been vindicated. I don't see how Trump supporters do it. You realize not only you, but other high profile individuals spent two days blaming My Little Pony and Kid Rock. Are you not even a bit angry? In this very thread, you swore it was coincidence and ranted about Michelle Obama not owning words. Trump just made all of you and his media defenders look really bad.

My money was on that purple My Little Pony, but I was wrong.

actually it was sean spicer, GOP spokesman, that used the "twilight sparkle" excuse.

These people shouldn't ever have access to anything potentially dangerous, let alone nuclear weapons.

I know Trump is super, duper, duper, rich, but can he not afford one of the plagiarism websites to check his speeches? I think some of them are free? I know a turnitin subscription can't be that much.

Slow and clumsy handling of the issue. First they deny it is plagiarism, now it is. So Hillary and My Little Pony deserve apologies. Why not just have said we are investigating, then put out this info. Oh yes, any press is good even if it makes you look stupid, dishonest and incompetent.

Melania doesn't have Mrs. Obama's speech memorized word for word. Really, do you think she has nothing better to do with her life than to memorize other people's speeches? She simply liked parts of her speech that she heard and told the writer so. The writer took it from there. it's not nuclear physics.
