Well, they finally admitted it. A writer supposedly put it in for Melania to use as a reference without the quotes, and Melania used it verbatim. Imagine if this had been admitted from the start. Instead, it had to be taken to the level of "My Little Pony" defense to just admit it was Michelle's words and used by mistake. Imagine if this was something much more serious than a speech. These people shouldn't ever have access to anything potentially dangerous, let alone nuclear weapons.
I know Trump is super, duper, duper, rich, but can he not afford one of the plagiarism websites to check his speeches? I think some of them are free? I know a turnitin subscription can't be that much.
Well, a family friend and ghost writer for the Trump's finally came forward to tell how the plagiarism happened. The bottom line is the Trump family is not ready for prime time. This never would have happened if they had used professional speech writers. But at least the mystery is solved and it sounds creditable. And the funny side note is that Melania really admires Mrs. Obama and she was the one to give the ghost writer Mrs. Obama's words and the ghost writer didn't check them against Obama's speech, just put them in the final draft as they were given to her. LOL
I just read that they threw someone under the bus.
They did, and opened a different can of worms in doing so. Since McIvers is employed by the Trump Corporation as a staff writer, the problem of whether she was compensated, and how she was compensated rears its head.
Mrs Trump is clueless even more than I thought not to recognize the very words that she lifted from Mrs Obama not to bring it up when reviewing the speech......
