IMO, Pence was trying to be Reaganesque when Reagan told Carter "there you go again". Didn't work for Pence.

I thought you were a Never Trump Republican. Pence should have been exactly what you wanted in a VP.

Kaine did do well in showing Pence denying things that everybody knows Trump has said ..

Mike Pence edges Tim Kaine in VP debate instant poll - CNNPolitics.com
It would be interesting if one did not watch and only relied on the transcript, if the perceived outcome would have been the same. I don't know given I watched it and was influenced by the physical performance. He who drinks water, tends to lose.

Kane seemed so intent to blast Trump he missed many opportunities to show the contrasts between Trump and Pence, free trade, Iraq War Resolution sponsorship, "the gays" and so on.

Pence did not take the repeated bait and instead sat there and shook his head. Pence denying Trump said certain things and the intentional flip- flop of the 90-10 ratio as it relates to the Clinton Foundation does not pass the smell test.

Wonder how Trump felt hearing so many wishing Pence was on the top of the ticket.

The problem with that is that Pence and Trump don't seem to be on the same page on what the "conservative vision" is. It's like they never met or ever listened to each other.

Didn't watch it - but just from reading the thread you'd think Hillary supporters watched an entirely different debate than the Trump supporters - but no bias here huh?

From the polls taken - Pence clearly won even those taken by the liberal media.

Couldn't stomach watching Pence deny stuff (lied) that Kaine was bringing up. But watching clips from the debate - Pence did get in a "there you go again"....obvious trying to be like Reagan.

Did see Pence brought up the 50% deplorables even when Clinton backed off that remark the following day.

Pence lives in an alternate reality/parallel universe.

Clinton issued a statement Saturday afternoon saying that she regretted using the word “half” to describe the Trump supporters she was referring to.

“That was wrong,” Clinton said. “But let’s be clear, what’s really ‘deplorable’ is that Donald Trump hired a major advocate for the so-called ‘alt-right’ movement to run his campaign and that David Duke and other white supremacists see him as a champion of their values.”
