The thing is, I am not so sure.

Kaine was essentially pulling a Trump in this debate - he was aggressive, grabbing the speaking time and staying on message. That was Trump's play book! In the early primaries, while critics were laughing at Trump and saying what a horrible debate he had; the polls were showing he connected with the voters.

Now, it's entirely possible that the Democrats are not as welcoming to an aggressive debater as the right-wing, but Kaine is also not as offensive as Trump. Kaine was right on point, any Democrat who are still on the fence today would have heard all the talking points tonight.

Kaine's performance tonight may seem off to some people, but he was hogging the airtime and he delivered the message. We'll see what happens.

.

After hearing Kaine/Pence, I think we may have wrong president candidates.

Did I miss anything about climate-change tonight?
Many think its top one issue, I do.

"War on coal" yes an entire world is against coal, cause of pollution and CO2-emissions. But US shouldnt care?

CNN saying Pence "narrowly" won the debate. I knew they'd spin it.

Yes and no. Pence I agree performed better because Kaine seemed like a coked up hyper active jerk. Pence was calm but he wasny perfect. Pence in a sense denied the words Trump did say. So CNNs commentary is looking at other scenarios. But no one will care what VPs had to say.

I agree, but I think it was 50/50 because of Pence not admitting what Trump had said.

Was I watching the same debate? Thought Kaine had a slight edge near the end, but there was a chance for Pence to win at the end. However, Pence instead went off on an anti-choice diatribe/rant to dismantle Roe vs. Wade at the end insulting the right of women to choose, instead of using that chance to unite all Americans. The Trump-Pence campaign was already in trouble with women. Frankly don't know what Pence was thinking! He can't blame Trump for that missed opportunity!

Pence was also silent during the debate when Kaine mentioned equal pay for equal work for women, and only was able to defend Trump once out of several occasions. He also failed to defend fellow American and Hoosier (!) Judge Curiel on two occasions when Kaine mentioned the Trump attacks on him.

What was reinforced to the viewer is that a Trump/Pence administration will be great mainly for white, conservative males. Kaine reached out to all Americans. IMO, that is important.
