Voters make their decision on the candidate at the top of the ticket. That has never changed.

Uh...... I hope that was a typo. Tim Kaine was very rude to his opponent. At least Pence showed Kaine some common courtesy....

No, us Libs are objective. Pence did a better job. Although Pence will be shown to be wrong at times when he denied Trumps actual words. Kaine was annoying. Yet, If Kaine was the RNC vp canidate his supporters would have said only Jesus was more elequent.

Boy, that's a matter of perspective. I thought Hillary did awful in that debate. She had her fake smile and laughter that looked like a thousand political consultants got her brainwashed, and she gave politicians' answers on everything. Even her little zingers were rehearsed, and she was just waiting for an opening to deliver them.

"It sounds like my opponent is criticizing me for preparing for this debate..."

Trump interrupted a lot, but he made a lot of good points. Of course, if you disagree with them then you wouldn't see it that way. But her debate performance was better received in the short replays that cut out her nervousness and beauty contest smiles (I even thought she may have put Vaseline on her teeth). I actually felt sorry for her during the debate because Trump was overpowering her. I don't know why so many thought she won that night. Trump is inarticulate, but you get the sense of what he means and that he will actually try to fix things. It would be nice if someone from outside of government but with a lot of business executive experience was president. I wish it could have been someone else, but Trump is the only one who could possibly overpower the media who like to destroy republican candidates (see Mitt Romney).

And of course the usual conservative shills will come out and say that everything Kaine said was HORRIBLE! That's kind of their job, right?

Even as someone who hates Trump, I'll say that Pence did a pretty good job and was better than Kaine tonight. And that's impressive considering that Pence has to defend the record of a lunatic.

I agree, stylistically he looked calm and composed. If he gets a good running mate in 2020, he could give Hillary / Kane a competitive run.
