Bottom line: Kaine interrupted too much and Pence lied nonstop about what Trump has said and positions he has taken.

I love that Tim Kaine said Mike Pence refused to defend Trump, but when Pence brings up Hillary's e-mails, he says just repeats what Comey said about no reasonable prosecutor would bring charges against Clinton. That's a defense of her mishandling classified e-mails?

Kaine struck me as rude, attorney defending his client in a murder trial. Even his dirty statements about Trump, some valid during a debate, were done in childish, rude way. He's the punk in 8th grade you punch in the mouth! Literally. What an assss this guy made of himself.

Who "won" the debate depends on what we mean by "won." If it means who affected the outcome most for his running mate, that answer depends on the shifting beliefs of the idiots who haven't yet decided who they want to vote for. I won't pretend to know what the idiots are thinking. If it means who had more good ideas and fewer bad ideas than the other guy, I would give a very slight nod to Kaine simply because he lied a lot less than Pence. Unfortunately, neither candidate really engaged in any meaty discussion of anything important, so it's tough to say who "won" if we take that word to mean anything related to the quality of ideas presented.

Kaine was more annoying, Pence seemed more smug. Pence lied over and over about things Trump is on tape saying, but I don't blame him for not wanting to take a bullet for Trump.

In a weird way, it seems possible for Pence to "win" the debate and Trump to be worse-off. I think anyone watching clearly saw that Trump has said such ridiculous things even his own VP won't defend them. That makes Pence look more reasonable than previously thought, and makes Trump out to be the idiot he is.

You do realize those two things aren't mutually incompatible, right? It could be true that Pence wasn't defending Trump AND Kaine was unwilling to defend Hillary. Kaine doing the thing he is accusing Pence of doesn't mean Pence didn't also do it.

Maybe the Boss will not like the fact that Pence did well but basically threw him under bus. In any job, it's your task to make the Boss look good not yourself.

I'm surprised that Kaine didn't correct Pence when he brought up abortions and government funding. No government funding is spent on abortions. Before anyone mentions Planned Parenthood, it provides counseling and health care for both men and women and only about 3% of its total services are abortions. By law, none of the money it receives from government funding can be spent on abortion.

Pence brought up praying on his knees and giving his life to Christ. That was a little disturbing, since he never added that he respects other religions. Kaine worked with Jesuit missionaries in Honduras, but he made it clear that he would not impose his religious beliefs on others.

I would rather not do my job than try to defend Donald Trump's worst statements.
