You know what Cali? I agree that losing sucks & I would be as upset as you if Trump had lost. The thing is you guys had 8 years to fix racism in this country and I think most people would agree with me that it is worse now than when Obama took office...
Have some grace like we were forced to when Obama took office & we knew he wouldn't change a thing....Its our turn to try and if hope and change doesn't come after 8 years of us with Trump I will concede that you were right. I think you will see that we were right, but I don't expect you to feel that way until you start seeing results (which you will)
Thank you. Excellent post.
When I logged on tonight, I was resigned to the fact that Hillary was going to win - which wouldn't have pleased me at all however if that was in the cards, and it seemed like a fair fight, I would do just what I did when Obama won (and he filled me with dread from the first time I heard him speak - and I wish I could say that has changed radically over the years but it hasn't) .. I would just say congratulations and prepare myself for what I believed I might have to deal with in the coming years.
I was late logging in tonight because while I was calm all day I just couldn't watch after the votes started coming in so I pulled out some old DVDs. They belonged to my late husband and I had never watched them (I'm ashamedly kind of a 'chick flick, happy ending, no violence' kind of video watcher and these didn't fit that mold) and lo and behold .. Bill Clinton was in both of them. I figured that was a sign and I better steel myself.
Can't say I was unhappy to find out that Trump was doing so well however. Not at all.
Okay, still listening to CNN and I might be mistaken, but I think I just heard Van Jones say that part of the problem was that the Latinos did not turn out to vote because there was not enough funds spent to encourage Latinos (specifically) to vote.
If that is true -- that Latinos did not vote because they were not "wooed" enough -- all I can say is that the feeling of entitlement among a "special" group of voters once again rears its ugly head.
Since when should any citizen feel they should be especially wooed and invited to vote? If someone is a legal citizen, not a felon, and at least 18 years of age, then they should know -- like any 6th grader knows -- that they DO have the right to vote and SHOULD!
Hilary not speaking says more than any words could say. She lost and has no use for the sheep any longer. Thanks for the millions of donations, good luck to you all!
Trump is the exact opposite of a career politician. Maybe that's exactly what this country needs. I'm getting a little excited now. Only thing that would be sweeter is if he had Jesse Ventura as VP.
You know as much as I hate trump im also getting excited I do feel like he isn't the traditional robot politican is it good or bad thing?Hopefully he brings we the people in this country back and not we the government.
But like obama in 2008 america always wants change,we are in for a LONG 4 years!!!
Why not have the elections 1 day before the results and give everyone in the USA a extra free day...
