Trump says that "Numerous players, from different teams, wanted to show their ‘outrage’ at something that most of them are unable to define."

Beto, the Democratic challenger for Ted Cruz's Senate seat, eloquently explains it here:

I saw that last night. I was pretty impressed. When that gentleman asked the question, Mr. O' Roarke, presumably, had no idea if his answer would be acceptable to the audience (this is Texas, after all).

Yet, during his four-minute answer, he laid the groundwork for his final answer, with people applauding at the end. I thought it well-done for an 'off the cuff' answer (although, I imagine he had been asked before, or thought that he would be asked, this question; recall that Churchill once gave a 'spontaneous' answer to a question in Parliament that was well-received; when an aide complemented him on his 'off the cuff' answer, Churchill replied "Yes, I was up all night working on it").

They can explain all they want, but so long as they keep doing it, I'm not tuning in.

The story is not true, but the players take a knee then do their jobs, the cops (in the story) took a knee then walked way from their assignment.

Beto got applause from Democrats in Houston, Tx after explaining the Keelers & Fisters as:
Rosa Parks
Selma
Jim Crow
Mississippi pens
Dead Children (let’s ignore Chicago)

That’s Shocking!

Yes, he explains it quite concisely and eloquently but why should he have to? Just how dumbed-down has a swath of Americans become that the meaning of taking a knee has to be explained to them? That is the real shame of all of this.
