All men are created equal ... after that we should be on our own. We arrive equal and down the road the men get separated from the boys (substitute women and girls wherever you like).
And then the "haves" help out the "have nots" by creating jobs and, if they play their cards right, they move up the ladder and become the "haves". That's America ... that's the beauty of it. The opportunity is there for every one of us.
For some reason there are some who think that "equal" means you deserve the same as everyone else throughout your life no matter what you do.
That's socialism. As everyone here knows, there are Democrats who believe socialism is what is best for our country. It may be just a matter of time. Careful what you wish for ... objects in the mirror are closer than they appear.

That isnt something that you "propose a realist alternative to" you simply dont vote for one of the two "popular" candidates right now...ie McCain or Obama because neither of them results in your hypothesis unless you mean the huge shift in power of going from Repubican to Democratic control.

Following your logic, all politicians are cookie-cutter automatons who all pursue the same agenda. In other words, Bill Clinton = George W Bush = Ike Eisenhower = Teddy Roosevelt and so on.

The incompetence, small-mindedness, and self-serving attitiude of the Bush/Cheney cabal has made Obama's candidacy possible. If Bush/Cheney had done a decent job the past eight years, Obama would be nothing more than a freshman senator from Illinois.

Hmm...been following this line of thought and the corresponding comments afterwards and I'm just curious - for clarification of course. The implication is that all inner city folks are poor, welfare recipient Democrats. Is this correct?
The reason the jobs are outsourced there is because business taxes here are too high, second highest in the WORLD. Reduce the business taxes, reduce the personal income taxes on the "rich" and you wont have as many of those issues.
I'm surprised you didn't advocate abolishing all minimum wage laws so the people in Florida can be paid the same as those in the Bahamas--.50 an hour.
