I dont see how people can criticize something like this.
It's also "up to" $4000.
The way it was stated was as if, all you have to do is 100 hours community service and you get a check for $4k to spend however you please! Sign me up!

No it's towards edu.
which is wonderful......if more than 90% of the country made that.
if that was a ayearly salary $81600/year seems optomisitic at best.
Crackheads have just as many dreams.....doesn't mean they dreams would ever possibly come in effect.
Look I gotta work...not a lot of time for proof reading to correct 100% of all mistakes....I'm trying to respond to the 4 or 5 that have decided to deflect the actual number and start disputing minor crap...give me time before posting 40 replies.
I don't have a college degree, and I make over that... but that's besides the point.
If I HAD such an option, I probably would have been able to GET a degree! I was not able to go to college due to financial considerations in my family. I can only hope they offer such options as these for children to be able to better themselves regardless of family wealth.
They are not getting CASH, it is a tax tuition credit. You have a problem with community service in exchange for tuition credits? Seriously? Do you think people serving in the military shouldn't get tuition credit either?
BTW, I googled that $4,000 for 100 hours community service deal.
It's an earned tuition credit. Put in community service, get a tax credit towards tuition and tuition only. Excellent plan.
Sounds wonderful......except to the people that worked their whole life to never get $40/hr.....but we will hand it out to undeducated kids in hope they make it in school with it.
And trust me there will be lot's to sign up....
How much community service you done? If you had done any like I have you see half the people are just there to goof off and collect it on their resume. I'm sure numbers varies.....
By the way this is a social services program....yet another.
