Right?
I mean, isn't it just a LITTLE hypocritical for a mom of 5 to be a vice president of anything, let alone the USA, according to the conservative base of the Republican party? Shouldn't she be more of a...I don't know, a DEMOCRAT? What would Dr. Laura say?????

McCain isn't really conservative, and I don't think any republicans would deny that. His VP pick is just a thinly veiled slap in the face to the right-wing base; he's essentially saying "Don't think you have any control over me; You want a conservative? Here you go, here is someone with zero political clout who will have zero control over me or my administration."

This message has apparently gone over the heads of most conservatives, who are quite giddy with pick thus far. At some point, though, they'll be realizing how little McCain thinks of them when the so-called religious right "leaders" find themselves being brushed off and sent to go meet with the VP.

It is really a masterful pick for someone who is essentially a democrat with an R by his name.

I suspect alot of republicans that are truthful to themselves, will question her experience, seeing how she has never been over sees, and gave her first national speech yesterday.

Even though more conservative she is way to young they're is a uneasy feeling about her. She isnt a great speaker and she is Hillary's shadow.

I don't think Republicans want someone thats Hillary shadow and really her main reason for being on the ticket is to get woman voters

More power to her!!!!!! If she didnt think she could handle it, she wouldnt be doing this.

Would any of you be questioning this if Obama, for instance, had three little kids at home? One of her children is full grown and one basically is.

Yeah, cuz you know all of us conservatives SAH with the kids listening to Dr. Laura so we will know how to be good mommies and spouses. It's a long time party platform of the GOP to keep women at home, out of the workplace and raising good little GOP babies.

Great insight OP.
