Funny that's what I felt about tonight. A continuation of the last 8 years, without acknowledging the last 8 years. I felt like checking my calendar a few times to make sure it was 2008.

Romney was surely waxing nostalgic for the Reagan Years, though.

He and Huckabee sounded like they were campaigning for the 2012 nomination instead of promoting McCain.

McCain 2008 bares no resemblance to McCain 2000. If he did, I might have voted for him. I kept hoping for McCain 2000 to reappear, but Palin was the final nail in that McCain's coffin.

I was holding out hope as well that the old John McCain would come out of his shell. I think he's forgotten who John McCain used to be.

Forget it. If I don't end up voting for Obama, I might resort to writing in Ron Paul.

Then again I could be president. Hell, the bar just keeps getting lower. I can balance a budget. I can pay my bills. And I can say I've never sought a pork barrel project from Washington. McCain and Palin say they haven't, but it's a bald-faced lie.

But you know what? If McCain were to win election the evangelicals would be the first group he would abandon. Poetic justice. Even Bush didn't follow thru with any anti-gay marriage amendment.

I feel sorry for McCain that he has to kiss the butt of Dobson.

You better thank God that Repubs got hold of Noo Yowk in the 90s and made it a viable place to live again. Go back and check your calendar anyhow.

First off, crime was already decreasing prior to Ghoulianni, under a dem mayor.

Secondly, its long been known New York Republicans are just fiscally conservative Democrats. They have almost nothing in common with the Republican party on a national level.

Last but not least, our current mayor is doing pretty swell (better than Ghoulianni) and he's a Democrat who turned Repub to win an election, and now is officially an Independent.

Guiliani is a political chameleon if there ever was one. He's the Bill Clinton of NYC.
