I don't think anyone is saying that it's off-limits to criticize her record as mayor or governor - that's fair game. The problem is the "rumors" that were instigated in the left-wing blogs (obama supporters) that targeted her baby, her daughter, that she is a women.
They ran with stories like the AIP one - totally debunked.
I realize she is new and fresh and people don't know much about her, but the so called "journalists" threw everything to the wind in their frenzy.
Asking the McCain campaign to supply DNA tests to prove the parantage of the baby is another crazy, kook-left idea.
That has nothing to do with the clip OP posted. Did you watch it?
I'm waiting for Stewart to put together some clever clips comparing the DNC's sincere commitment to women's equality with their shameful smearing of Sarah Palin.
It'll be a long wait, though.
After all, Mr. Leibowitz is a coward and a shill for the Dems.
The issue with me is hypocrisy. This "hometown home spun down home havin' a beer with the guys" image is total bull**** and always has been. Just look at the Bush family they are OLD money. Untouchable old money elites with a long legacy in politics and wealth in the country. They are right up there with the Rockefellers in pedigree just go take a look at their family tree. There's nothing "average" about them at all.
Plus it's so obvious that a big part of the "social" conservative political movement is just a willingness to impose theocratic moral values on the U.S. public. It has nothing at all to do with preserving values but instilling a new set of religious values on the mainstream. Just the whole creationist stance and their drive to push it into public schools is a big indication of where they want things to head.
That's the ironic thing about this idealized version of the U.S. it actually has a lot in common with a theocratic authoritarian nation like Iran. Along with its foreign policy stance it's a pretty scary overall doctrine and that's why so many foreign nations view the U.S. with distrust these days.
