Why do the evangelists have such a stranglehold on the republican party?
I have read on some threads that some non-christians are afraid to tell their nieghbours that they are atheists because they might be shunned.
what's happened to America?

Considering current trends, in our hypothetical 3-way-split map, we may have to add southern Missouri (Mizzurah) to Redneckistan and add North Dakota (with all congressional offices, Senate and House, belonging to Democrats) to the New American Republic.
