As Palin is revealed more and more as a nut, as a McCain supporter, which candidate SHOULD he have picked? Vote.

If McCain had selected Ron Paul this would be such a different election & a lot more engaging. The McCain/Paul combo would have been a difficult challenge for Obama\Biden. But McCain radically differs from Paul on the war & fiscal issues so they would have never been a team. Too bad

I like Palin just fine. She is killing the McCain ticket which works just fine for me.

But he would have been in a better position with Romney or Paul.

McCain is a dimwit so-called "Maverick" that's the problem. Personally I think McCain has lost the battle and the war (he's ran for president for 20 years goodness) but the GOP should bounce back in 2012 with Romney/Jindal with a successful presidency in 20012-2020. Obama is only going to be a 1-term president as he is inheriting the slumping economy, war in Iraq and immigration woes, not something "hope" can change in 4 years. Hope is great, but it is not a plan or a strategy.

The only other pick that would have done as much for McCain would have been Bobby Jindal!
Palin is not the problem with the McCain campaign, the problem is McCain is a moderate at heart and he wants to be loved by media and lib's alike!

He should have picked Ron Paul but Paul is a pariah to the GOP establishment so from a party line standpoint, Romney would have made McCain odds on favorite to win.

McCain wanted Joe Lieberman but the party wouldn't let him. Joe is not liked by a vast swath of voters from Dems to Repubs, the Repubs would never like a pro Abortion liberal. Joe is a 1 issue guy, he only cares about Mid East wars.

If McCain had picked Ron Paul, he would have gotten my vote hands down, that would have been enough for me to overcome my dislike of McBush.
