Of course, some of the damage is not yet obvious, but it's becoming more so every day.

How about posting an honest poll in an honest thread?

If you feel the Bush/Cheney years have been good for America, by all means please feel free to post an "honest" thread praising them for their good work in advancing our national interests.

But please cast your vote in my poll on your way out.

I say it's Bush because he's ultimately responsible. If Cheney fills Bush's head with bad ideas, that's one thing. If Bush acts on those notions, that's another. One thing is certain, though. The combination of Bush and Cheney has been toxic beyond belief. America will suffer the aftereffects of their greed and incompetence for decades to come.

And Bush still doesn't get it. Remember when he said the Iraqi's would welcome us as their liberators and the war would be over in three days? Now he is going on a good will tour in Iraq and Afghanistan and discovering how much the people we "liberated" hate him and the USA. The shoe throwing incident was just the tip of the iceburg. Now, there are demonstrations by thousands of people buring American flags and chanting against Bush and the USA. Did he do this on purpose to make things harder for Obama, or does he truly not understand what is going on?

The greed of Americans is damaging Americans the most. Buying things with a plastic card, knowing full well they can't afford it. Taking out loans on houses far beyond their means. Driving cars that not only pollute the earth, but are too expensive for their income. Going out to eat dinner three times a week. Debt of Americans on average has skyrocketed. Americans save -5% of their income a year on average, which means the average American not only spends every penny s/he earns, but goes into debt a further 5% as well.

The greed of corporations, CEO's, etc plays a part. Many are crumbling. These corporations are controlled by people.

Yes, the government can take partial credit, stemming back decades. Bush furthered along the process, no doubt.

To place sole blame on one entity is stupidity.

He probably thinks the shoe-tosser was just an isolated case of an ungrateful Iraqi who isn't fully aware of all of his new "freedoms".

No need. I'm just pointing out that this is an inane and pointless thread and poll. The fact that you cannot see that is evidence enough that you're wearing blinders.

In a very thought-provoking op-ed piece, W has recently written an article in "The Onion" that he is going to miss systematically destroying the country....

I don't feel like searching it, so I'll just ask out of ignorance: Did you make this complaint on the other poll that started up a couple days ago? The one that asked nearly the same question but listed liberals, Muslim extremists, and Michael Moore?

This poll at leas has some basis to it, as the people listed have been in charge of the country for the last 8 years.
