I was listening to a story recently that one of the things the Obama team did while making preparations to take over was to contact veterans' groups like the VFW and ask them who they wanted on the VA board. Seeking direct input from Vets rights groups is something that has been pretty rare in some previous administrations.

The guy they picked to head the VA sounds great!

Obama: No one 'more qualified' than Shinseki to head VA - CNN.com
Obama said Shinseki, who served two combat tours in Vietnam and lost part of his foot, "understands the changing needs of our troops and their families. And he will be a VA secretary who finally modernizes our VA to meet the challenges of our time."

That is the President of our country. As such, he deserves the respect that every previous President has been entitled to. George W Bush was certainly no prize, yet he managed to get his picture hanging in every federal office. why is that? I'm going to check out our VA Hospital here in San Antonio tomorrow.

You'd think the South would have learned a lesson. The last time the dissed a president from Illinois, the Union sent General Sherman down to teach them manners. Slow learners those Southern boys.

Angry One small thing ...

Everyone seems to be forgetting that the photograph is DIGITAL!! They do have the Internet at the VA and a couple of them even have color printers! Every senior government official's photograph is available online for the express purpose of printing. So I have to ask why they haven't been printed locally. This is not rocket science.

wrong again dave. gov't offices that display the likeness of our present fearless leader are required to display a picture of your so called muslim socialist president obama. and, it's not their right, it is a requirement, not an option. when you become president, we'll have to hang a picture of your ugly mug in government offices too, no matter how much we dislike you.
