Let's stay focused ... government buildings are required to display the president. When George W. Bush was elected the first time his picture went up right away. That was BEFORE the digital age. President Obama is the first U.S. President to have his official photo taken without film. I'll say it again: WHAT'S GOING ON AT THE VA???

I was really hoping to hear from people who actually worked in VA's across the country so I could get some perspective.

How sad to think that hateful little liberals are still clinging to that stupid story about Bush being AWOL.

Never one whit of evidence, but nevermind. If one of you claims it, you'll ALL repeat it like little drones, as if that'll make it more believable.

It's kind of cute, really.

First of all, were you THERE to see how quickly the picture of Bush went up? I know I wasn't. I wasn't paying a bit of attention to that kind of stuff.

Second, do you REALLY think that they're just going to print a digital picture of Obama, and hang it up on the wall? Come on, it'll either be an official portrait, or it won't be there.

Third, what do you think is a "reasonable amount of time" to get the picture put up? Obama has now been President for less than a week.

Seriously... Don't you think the portrait will be up in a couple days - maybe a week?

No, I was serving in Japan when Bush was first elected. However, I was told by an employee at that VA who has been there for many years that it took 3 weeks for them to get his picture in. Again, that was FILM. Now if the picture was due to go up sometime this month or even NEXT month, I would have never started this thread. The fact that they're anticipating MARCH is ridiculous to me. And for your information, the Department of Defense has his picture up at ALL its installations. NOW. And yes, I do expect them to print the digital photo. If you hadn't noticed, MOST pictures these days are digital. Film is not eco-friendly or practical. Nobody uses it anymore.

If you people dont think there are rules, regulations and protocol that speak to this very issue then you know squat about the Federal Government. Unless you can cite a rule or regulation being broken then you have no clue or reason to complain.

So it took 3 weeks to get Bush's picture up.

Obama has been President less than 1 week.

What's the problem?

Now... for the record, I think it's kind of dumb that it has taken THIS long. But to assume that it has something to do with Obama being black is quite a stretch.
