If defining TV as the traditional cable/broadcast network model then there is a huge difference between internet and TV. if defining TV as youtube and similar online resources then the line between internet and TV is more blurry. For the sake of this thread I am considering TV to be the traditional model. My answer is I would give up the traditional TV. The internet provides resources to make my life better, traditional TV does not.
This is my assumption too. Given that, I'd choose to give up TV over internet. Even if I'd had to give up "TV on internet", it's still leaning towards giving up TV.
If "just TV", that could be a concern since I hook up my Wii to it, although a workaround would be to hook it up to a monitor or projector instead
I guess I'm the odd one out BUT I would give up internet and pick my TV.Yes I know there seems to be many ways now where one can stream shows and movies through your computer BUT before there was internet...most of you were watching TV without any problem.I say to each their own but I would choose TV for 1 year.
I pick no tv for a year. Most current shows are crap anyway. Even soap operas aren't as entertaining as they used to be. So I mainly just read the recaps.
I remember as a kid, there was all kinds of cool stuff on tv many nights of the week. But now, I couldn't care less about the stuff that passes for entertainment now.
If I feel nostalgic, I prefer to go on YouTube and watch old episodes of shows from decades ago. Tv does have Retro channels but I like YouTube better because it has much more of a selection to choose from.
What if we defined "giving up TV" as no TV programming of any kind on any device, period?
I'd miss YouTube but I'd still pick the option of giving up tv for a year rather than giving up internet for a year. I'd feel far more cut off with no internet.
I've already been without TV for over 8 years now. With internet, who needs it?
