I just want to say that I stand corrected on Patton Oswalt.
I said he wasn't that funny...
My ex tried to get me into him a few years ago... gave me a couple clips to watch... and then I tried yet AGAIN on my own earlier this year. I clicked on one of his comedy specials and tried to watch.
I must've unintentionally selected the 3-4 unfunniest things he's ever done, because.... I've seen more since then and he's VERY funny.
He has a tendency to ramble now and then. Sometimes it's hilarious, how he just lets his mind go on a roll with something, deeper and deeper. It's like those extreme hypotheticals we all silently launch into when we're bored.. he remembers all of his and puts them into his act. LOL! And then other times, I'm just not all that interested in what he's talking about and it's not that funny. I just kind of smile and nod and wait for him to move on to the next thing.
But more often than not, he's very perceptive and naturally funny.
...George Carlin - good jokes, just can't stand his delivery. His raspy like voice has always bothered me. If his jokes were coming from another comedian, I'd probably love them.
Carlin's voice changed as he aged. Check out some earlier albums.
LETTERMAN.....not once has he ever made me laugh....Leno is the same deal...we are told that these people are comedians....millions on exposure to convince us they are funny...they are not funny...just rich and glib.
