Hello, I like Central Europe, it seems like the best of both words, combining good things about Western Europe with some good things from Eastern Europe. I like mountains, but I generally fancy the great Hungarian plain and I am in general into plains and fields. I like cities close torivers as they tend to have many poplars.

Since Hungarian language is very hard, I would more easily learn Slovak as I already speak a Slavic language -- my own. I know that most of Slovakia is hilly or mountainous. I'd like to ask those in the know if there are any low/flat lands there? I think there are some low lands in the South-eastern part of the country around Košice and especially Trebišov. But what about South-western Slovakia? In this map it seems like there are low lands in the South West as well:

- The sunniest region in Slovakia is the Danube lowlands, with more than 2,000 hours of sun per year.
So I am mostly interested in 2 and 4, but also less in 1 and 8.

Anyone got information on Slovak lowlands?

Average year temperature in our lowlands is about 10°C. Lowlands names are: Poddunajská nížina (there are few smaller towns like Malacky, Skalica, Gbely, Stupava, Holíč, Senica), Záhorská nížina (Bratislava, Hurbanovo, Nové Zámky, Galanta, Å aľa, Komárno) a Východoslovenská nižina (Michalovce, Humenné, TrebiÅ¡ov, Vranov nad Topľou, maybe also KoÅ¡ice).

Hello, i know this is an old thread. You said hungarian language is hard for you to learn and you like Danube lowlands. If you are going here one day you will be disapointed because about 3/4 of people there speak hungarian Hundarians here speak only hungarian and Slovaks speak both hungarian and slovak . But cities like Komárno and Štúrovo/Esztergom are beautiful
