Turkey will not join G7. How is that even possible. It still has a smaller economy than the Netherlands or Mexico, not to mention Spain. Turkey with its current sorry state can't even join the EU not to mention G7.

Yeah, I understand that voting now is more a matter of who you hate less, or who you could for so that everyone else would start understanding they have to change something. Still, this is messed up situation and the end result could be much worse.

Hollande is not really popular, but then neither was Sarkozy. At least Sarkozy was extremely polarizing whereas Hollande is rather bland and very few people rep him.

Oh, about the election, ex-Economy minister Emmanuel Macron wants to run for it.

I don't know, Trump was not supposed to be elected either, so everything is possible in that dystopic world coming.

I don't get your point. New York and California are part of the USA. They count, you can't act like they doesn't exist.
This argument works even less for France where the president is elected directly by citizen votes and every vote counts the same.
So the areas where Le Pen vote is low like Paris region matter a lot.
You can't win without the majority of the vote in France.

Consider Clinton is the only alternative I honestly don't understand why people act like Trump being elected is a big surprise. It was likely from the beginning and it is you guys who were in illusion.

I would vote for Macron.
All the others look really old and tired.

My point is that without these two overwhelmingly democratic states Hillary would not have come even close to winning the popular vote. Actually it is irrelevant, she lost and will never have another shot at the presidency. That is very good news.

Why am I participating in this thread? I said what happens in France is of no concern to me, maybe I should have said, at this time I don't care who wins. Perhaps I will change my mind, I do have an ex daughter in law and three wonderful grandchildren. All very french.

True but it is a European forum. Do you think who acts as the US president matters to many people in the world?
If non-citizens voted in the presidential elections that may be crime, I don't really know. They were not allowed, they just did.

I am sure more people in the world are effected by the actions of a US president then by those of a French president.

What difference does it make what forum it is?

Of course, France is alway the best in the world. Don't you ever quit. Reading your posts is very boring. French are the most boring people in the world.

After Brexit France is the second-most powerful country in Europe and our mutual ally. Of course it matters who wins the election.
