LMAO France has 230.000 Spaniards from a population surpassing 67.000.000 (67 million) whom more than half were born in France but hold the Spanish citizenship.
I don't know where you get this stat.
Here are the official stats.
In 2014, there were 247,000 Spanish immigrants in France.
A Spanish immigrant is necessarily born in Spain. An immigrant is someone who is born outside France with a foreign citizenship at birth, an immigrant can't be born in France.
There were 144,390 foreigners with Spanish citizeniship.
A foreigner is someone without the French citizenship.
It means that a lot of Spanish immigrant have acqueried the French citizenship.
We won't never accept anyone ruling us except for ourselves, lol.
Maybe a big union resembling a federation with the government in Brussel ok, but never a French or a German one. We don't see France as a leader, we don't need 3rd party leaders.
I guess "we" (whoever that represents) can feel free to leave the EU when it comes to that.
I think as long as France, Germany, Italy, Spain and probably Benelux are on board with this idea, how other countries think is irrelevant. They can choose to leave the union along with their high pride of a few million people any time they want. But good luck in the future.

The thing is that none of those countries are on board with that idea.

People said that about the EU or the Eurozone too.
These big players will not feel as weak or powerless within a unified union as smaller countries do because they represent a significant share of the whole pie. As a result, it is easier for them to push ahead with the idea. In fact, it is more realistic to start with a few core countries, instead of expecting all current EU members to be on board, which is impossible. The EU didn't start with so many members either.
Now we have EU an the Euro zone. Then they can start creating a new club called ROE (republic of Europe) within the Euro zone itself with further fiscal and political integration, starting with a few countries who are willing to participate. This will be a pretty large country (150-250 million people) with a dominant position in Europe.
Then countries with a few million people can decide to join or not. Nobody will force them to give up their previous "national identity". It is totally up for them to weigh the pros and cons.

What does EU has to do with non-European immigration ?
This subject is on the hands of national governments, EU has no control of that. Especially in UK (not part of Shenghen). It's UK that had a very favorable non-EU immigration policy, it can't blame this on others.

The UK has left the EU for numerous reasons, as for our borders even without Schengen anyone from within the EU could come here to live including criminal gangs, pickpokets and other undesirables as well as those who just wished to milk the benefit system. After Brexit we will still let people with valued skills come here to live and work but will be able to refuse entry to those who are not going to contribute to our society.

Sure, the UK will be a fantastic place after Brexit. Let's discuss that in detail on the UK forum.
Now let's talk about the Eurozone, which is what this thread is about (nothing to do with the UK to begin with).

You are not a moderator here, and my answer was in respect to something stated about the UK, a country which is in Europe.
Europe is a geographic entity, the EU is merely a political and trading organisation. There are a number of European countries who are not part of the EU and this is a European subforum and not an EU subforum.
People said that about the EU or the Eurozone too.
