The best time is when you feel like it, make time for it, and not make any excuses.

I prefer to work out later on in the evening. Probably because I contra dance, and the dances don't end until around 11 PM, so it just feels natural for me to be active at that hour. Two nights ago I was in the gym riding stationary bike after 10 PM, and I rode 10.22 miles in 43 minutes, and I hit 7 miles at the 30-minute mark, which is a 14 MPH average, my personal Holy Grail when I am outside on my real bike. I should have been home getting ready for bed because next morning I was going to be commuting to work in the middle of a snowstorm!

It's always personal preference. I've heard that evening is the best, since you burn off the day's food calories, and suppress your diet the remainder of the evening.

I prefer right after work. I know its always going to be busy, but I usually luck out and get a machine, and vent off all the frustrations of the day. Go home and shower, and eat.

I find that late morning or mid-afternoon works best for me.

the only time that I can work out is in the evenings, after work. my preferred time would be over the lunch hour but that is not possible.

Your posting history makes it seem like you are a bot. Just posting random very very short questions in multiple forums with very very short remarks all like 2 minutes apart. Yet, you havent replied or participated in any of the discussions in any of those threads you started. Weird.

What I have found (and have posted many times here) is that for ME, cardio in the early morning has proven beyond any shadow of a doubt, to be superior in burning/reducing body fat %. I mean, I've tried it during other times of the day and its not even close at just how much more effective early morning, empty stomach cardio is at burning/reducing body fat percentage. Its why I have been able to maintain a 6 pack for all of these years despite loving beer and burgers. Especially post-run breakfast beer.

Some people are morning peopls and some aren't. Myself I love to workout in the late afternoon just before dinner. I've tried the early morning workout and fairly hated it. I'm just not at my best then.

The only potential problem to evening workouts is that exercise within a couple hours of your bedtime can sometimes prevent you from falling asleep as quickly as you would like, or as quickly as usual. The reasons for this are obvious, in that your adrenaline and endorphins might still be pumping around your system.

Whenever you can fit in.

This falls under the category of things that don't really matter when it comes to fitness, as it probably makes 1/100th of a difference. Just get it done.

I usually try to get my exercise (running, biking, swimming, lifting, stretching) between 8-12 in the a.m.
