....aesthetics on forums like these. It's all your standard body building stuff. And yet the largest group in our population, the Baby Boomers, really need the most help on their mobility and flexibility. It may not be glamorous, but it's truly much more important than worrying about what one's body looks like.

OK, start the conversation. We're all ready to jump in if you have some interesting thoughts.
I think there is a massive shift towards boredom-related activities. Whenever we see huge influxes of new screennames.. Someone, somewhere, has ordered some kind of Internet mobilization to start us thinking about things of questionable relevance.
Sure. I'm saying my observations of many of the posts on this forum is they only focus on aesthetics. Ultimately the most important factor in any exercise program should be to get to one's fitness goals in the safest and most efficient manner possible. If you don't have the proper mobility, you won't get the range of motion you need to get the most out of your exercise program, and there's a very good chance you could get injured. So you get into a vicious cycle of one step forward, and two steps back. Not a lot of fun for anyone and very demotivating. It starts with mobility to get to that "end game".
It's simply an observation of mine from the different fitness forums I've seen over the years.

Do we really need another post on this topic? There are a lot of insecure people popping up around here.
No joke! This again? I suggest maybe a sticky combining the several dozen of these threads so all the “people only work out for aesthetics” people will have the safe space they seem to need to berate people for pursuing fitness through weight training.

Have you actually looked through this forum?
Running down through the list of recent threads, I see one asking whether push-ups are a good full-body workout. One discussing whether lifting lighter weights to failure gives similar strength and conditioning benefits as lifting heavy. The benefits of Yoga. The benefits of massage therapy.
Move down the list a little and there's one about how to get in shape for a fitness test for a job when the OP is still recovering from workout injuries (similar to other PT tests for a job threads that show up here with some frequency, except usually the OP is not recovering from injuries).
We get threads on here about how to begin working out when the OP is starting out overweight. How to work out with various health issues. The latest news about exercise and fitness celebrities. How to get conditioned for various sports. Issues related to etiquette in the gym.
Going back to the more recent (or recently revisited) threads, even the girl asking how to get slim legs for modeling was seeking advice on attaining a certain look needed for employment. That's not to say that there are never any threads here ever about how to look good for the beach next summer, but those amount to a few here and there, mixed in with questions about health, fitness, and conditioning.
As I asked above, have you actually looked through this forum?

Amen.
Still not sure which forum the OP is talking about.
