Men get "objectified" and judged by women too, by what kind of job he has, how much money he makes, does he have a college degree, penis size. But I don't sit around and cry about it.
Uh, to objectify applies to something in relation to women, it has nothing to do with what you mentioned, which has to do with societal pressures or judgements, that are also wrong.
That is also true, the Romans were a bit weird about homosexual relationships. It was ok as long as you were the dominant one or something weird like that.
I am talking about instances where women VOLUNTEERILY choose to take part in ads that showcase them in an erotic manner. No one is forcing those models pose for playboy or sport illustration as far as I am concerned they are doing it because they want to. If you are confident enough to show it off, then why not show it off?
I don't think it has to do with being confident, on the contrary. I've said this elsewhere here, just as those who become strippers, call girls, Porn stars, it has been recognized that those women many times have come from bad situations, having poor self esteem and this is the only way they know how to get by, surely getting paid well. Popular actresses have refused to do nude scenes in films.
Just to mention, I was told by someone who knew, that those who model for "Lingerie" catalogs or ads, are many times, Lesbians, but men likely don't know this. (Just as attractive Gay men have been known to portray straight characters).
Well everyone is welcome to have different feelings but the truth be told I personally have never met a women who has felt offended by any of this....on the flip side, most women I know are offended by feminists. I feel that feminists are to women as Al Sharpton is to the black community, trying give the perception that their actions are righteous but really just stirring the pot and putting false ideas into peoples minds to get a rise.
I have nothing more to say. This is like debating religion and politics all in one. No ones a winner.

Oh, for heaven's sake. A "feminist" is simply someone who believes that women should be paid equally and treated equally to men. Do you really know that many women who are offended by that? Ask them if they think they should be paid the same as men for doing the same job. Ask them if they think they should be able to vote.
My point is, there is a difference between women willfully doing something and being forced to do it.
And yet you're dismissing the fact that just because a very small population of women (models and porn stars) are okay with using their bodies for millions of unknown men to jerk off to them, it does NOT mean that the average woman on the street (the majority) feel the same way. Why do so many posters here seem to have such a difficult time grasping this concept? Is it because you all think "woman" is one and the same? That every single woman thinks and acts exactly like the next? That because one woman is okay parading her goods around in public then all the rest of them obviously do too? I can't even begin to understand this mindset. It's practically proving the entire concept of objectification-you all paint women as a singular creature that YOU clearly better understand than we do.

You are making way too many assumptions here and overcomplicating things. I never said all women had to do it, and clearly they don't. There are many like me who don't give a rats ass about such ads.

Exactly. That's why this thread is pretty much useless. They're never going to understand.
