I'm from Denver, and ladies here wear active gear/spandex as their everyday wardrobe. I took a weekend trip to Crested Butte Colorado, walking through the town I literally was the only woman wearing jeans. I've traveled to a few places in the Midwest recently and did not see the trend in wardrobe there. In fact, I had a layover in the Nashville airport, saw a women in active gear and took a guess that she would be on my flight back to Denver...sure enough, I was right.
Is this a fashion trend seen in other cities?
I have many friends who wear workout clothes even though they might never even work out that day.
Most say they do it because it's comfortable and easy to pull together "a look" without much effort, and one joked that it makes it look like she's on her way to or from a workout regardless.
Hate it, I get it in my office too, black spandex being passed as dress pants or biz casual. In these instances I think its perception of these 2 women just thinking they look better in spandex.
Many believe they can *dress up* spandex, leggings, jeggings, or any number of the other items that should be limited to the gym.
