Yeah, OP; generally, they're supposed to be worn with a long tunic top, that covers the rear end. They're making them longer these days, too, so they're more like a mini-dress over leggings. There was a phase of that sometime back in the late 80's/early 90's, too.

What makes me want to buy them is that finding jeans or regular pants that fit right is hell. Trying on and failing, sending them back, getting them hemmed, etc. Grrr..

I've always wondered, why don't they make women's pants out of the same kind of stretchy rubber than balloons are also made out of? Balloons stretch way beyond their original size. I'll tell you why they don't: It's too good of an idea. Nobody ever wants to try out the ideas that make the most sense.

In my area I often see women wearing leggings with tunic tops. I don't recall ever seeing someone wearing them with a short top, though I'm sure there are some who do. I don't wear them because they're unflattering on me. They reveal every little imperfection in my legs. I stick with jeans and slacks.

They do look nice on most. But quite a few that wear them, really shouldn't be

I like leggings. I think they make my legs look better. I’m not slim. My fave pair right now is probably my mossy olive green faux suede pair.

I generally prefer workout pants versions as they are thicker. They are a bit more casual than my day to day fashion aspirations but they are comfy.

Spanx is a brand, not a type of clothing. Spanx also makes leggings, t-shirts, tank tops, jeans, swimsuits, etc.

Thanks, I do not remember seeing leggings very often in the 80's/early 90's. I see them every day now.

Many do not cover the rear, or just barely. I've become so used to them around, I stop noticing. Until yesterday when I was surrounded by four of them at the health food store. But it's near a gym and that must be why. I go to that health food store almost every day. I will report back.

Apparently that's what women want, for men not to notice them. Except for the ones who do want men to notice them. As long as they are not "creepy" men.

Speaking just for myself, as a woman who doesn't wear leggings, I'd be disappointed if I DID go out in extra tight pants and no one noticed. I think I have a pretty good figure for my age.
