I will almost always match pastels with grey or something drab like Khaki. My go to is ;a pink shirt. grey trousers, dark blue blazer, brown belt and shoes. Same as with a blue shirt. I have pastel sweaters (one yellow and one green) that I only wear with khaki.
Y'know the whole blue is for boys and pink is for girls thing? It's pretty recent.
Boys used to wear pink because it was a youthful version of manly red.
My husband has a passion for camo. He's not a hunter or survivalist, just likes to blend in, I guess. He won't go for pink camo--I've tried--but he likes blue camo.
Well, I guess this is one instance where being female is a blessing. We can wear any colors we want without worrying what others might think. And "men's" clothes, like pants, too.
Agreed, but it really doesn’t matter at all. My husband has a couple of pink polos, they look great on him. No pink or pastel sweaters, though.
I’m seeing more and more guys dressing in pastels and looking great. I myself stick to black or navy sweaters. I am scared to wear pink/lavender etc.
For a man, black and navy are safe neutral colors. To shake things up I recently bought a pair of Arc'teryx orange hiking pants that are well-tailored. I have a blue pair too. They don't look that dorky, the orange being more of a flat / pumpkin. I like being a little eccentric though there are limits. The color contrasts well with blue and earth tones. Might be a PacNW thing (Arc'teryx, North Face, Columbia, etc.)
Pastels in sweaters: not my style, outside the golf course. Last spring I bought high vis yellow and green polos on closeout (seconds, from eBay) for running as visibility counts there too. But day to day...pastels can wash out some complexions. I'm a touch ginger though not full-on red. Fairly pale, though.
Pastels, nah. Same reason I rid myself of white polos in the past year, just not the greatest look for me in particular. To me dark colors in the winter lands better, the only time I wear fleece anyway (not sweaters per se).
Love men in colors. As with women, it depends on your skin's undertone as to which looks better.
