Lets face it with the economy it is hard to keep up with the beauty items you would like to have or get. I know many people color their own hair. I would rather go get it done but can't. The days of 20.00 for shampo or to try some expensive makeup is gone. I actually cut my kids and husbands hair but I go get mine cut that won't stop. So I was wondering who out there has found a product for hair or make up that they tried that was cheaper to perhaps find it was better than the high cost one. Also does anyone make their own products. Share

I like some anti-bacterial phisoderm that one of my tenants left behind. It was awesome, but I haven't been able to find it in stores or online! They seem to have some new phisoderm now? NE way it's not the same. I have oily skin and I like Desert Essense thoroughly clean face wash. My face was thoroughly clean I have colored my own hair for years, but I just use black. I use Clairol professional or Goldwell Topchic and mix the color myself. You should look for some instructions from youtube before you color at home. I generally use a professional cape and squeeze bottles to mix the stuff in. I also end up getting dye on something in the bathroom not matter how hard I try not to. I also have saved hundreds by waxing myself. I use sugar wax. That also takes practise, but once you get it down, you can be yummy and hair free for fairly cheap. I use Nads and Persian sugar wax. I buy rolls of muslin and I also use tend-skin. I remember spending hundreds to wax, so even with all of that stuff, I'm still saving money.

People can also go to startsampling.com and get tons of beauty related samples. I have a shoe box in a drawer that is full of these types of samples....including shampoos and conditioners. I rarely buy anything but specific makeup items and my hair color (I do my own as well). Also, if you like certain beauty brands, go to their websites. It is amazing how many coupons are out there just waiting on you to download them.
